Alternative Education Placement
Working with students with severe problem behaviors is a very difficult task. Often, and for a variety of reasons, some students with self-injurious, aggressive or persistently disruptive behaviors are not easily accommodated by traditional school systems. This is where we can help.
ACI Learning Centers is pleased to inform you of our alternative placement services. We provide one-on-one instruction to students with autism and other developmental delays, using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. Our ABA services are focused on many different areas depending on each student’s individual needs. Some of our specialties include:
• Managing difficult problem behaviors
•Teaching functional communication
• Increasing academic performance
• Facilitating appropriate social skills
We are currently accepting school-aged students (3-18 years of age), who could benefit from more intensive services. Our highly qualified staff includes Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs) as well as extensively trained tutors and instructors with backgrounds in behavioral psychology, special education, speech pathology, occupational therapy, and many other related experiences.
Each student who attends ACI has the advantage of a carefully programmed individualized curriculum that is tailored to the student’s specific needs and is aligned with the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). The curricula at ACI are based on various assessments of learning: the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills – Revised (ABLLSTM-R), the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), and The Essentials for Living; a functional living skills curriculum. Academic state standards are an integral part of each IEP.
ACI has the ability to enable every student to be a successful learner. Through partnership with the student’s school, observation and training, and planned generalization, students can smoothly transition back into their school setting. We have a proven track record of collaboration with community schools, other providers, as well as parents.
Providing evidence-based interventions for individuals on the autism spectrum enables them to be productive members in their home and community.
